When using a rotary evaporator, the accompanying water bath is an important component as it provides the heating source for heating the solution in the rotary evaporator.
When using a water bath, the following points need to be taken into account to ensure safety and efficiency:
.Lift the test vial of the rotary evaporator to the top.
.Set the water bath at the centre of the rotary evaporator specimen bottle moving up and down.
.Slowly lower the main body of the rotary evaporator.
.Lower the height of the rotary evaporator so that the specimen bottle is placed in the water bath, and add water to the water bath with reference to the capacity of the specimen bottle.Do not add too much sleep, add to the position of 2cm from the edge of the pot can be.When the water quantity is not enough,do not pour water directly on the test bottle, but add it slowly from the side.(Because it is a water bath, please do not use liquids other than tap water or distilled water).
.Confirm that the power switch of the water bath and the power switch of the main unit of the rotary evaporator are in the off state, then insert the power plug into the socket.
.Lower the sample bottle of the rotary evaporator to the lowest possible level.
.During the evaporation process, water will decrease due to evaporation. The water level in the water bath needs to be checked regularly and replenished as necessary to maintain a constant temperature.
.As the water bath involves the use of hot water, proper precautions should be taken such as wearing a laboratory coat, gloves and goggles to prevent burns or splashes.
.After use,the water bath should be cleaned to remove any chemicals that may clog or corrode the equipment. Also, periodically check the power cord and plug of the water bath to make sure there is no damage.
.During the heating of the water bath, avoid moving the water bath to prevent splashing of hot water. Also, ensure that the water bath is placed on a stable workbench away from flammable substances and chemicals.
