A rotary evaporator is a glass instrument commonly used in laboratories for the continuous distillation of volatile solvents under reduced pressure.Rotary evaporator is mainly used for concentration,crystallisation,drying,separation and solvent recovery in pharmaceutical,chemical and biopharmaceutical industries.It mainly consists of heating pot,condenser,rotating device,collection bottle and other parts.Its principle is:under vacuum conditions,constant temperature heating,so that the rotary bottle rotates at a constant speed,and the material forms a large film on the wall of the bottle.The solvent evaporation is cooled by the glass condenser and recycled in the collection bottle,which greatly improves the evaporation efficiency.It is especially suitable for the concentration and purification of biological products which are easily decomposed and denatured at high temperature.
Common troubleshooting methods and tips for rotary evaporators:
First,the instrument's bath pot flush temperature detection content:
1,the bath temperature is higher than the set temperature,temperature controller in the"OUT"or"ON"green indicator does not go out.(1-2℃is normal)
2、Temperature controller in the"OUT"or"ON"green indicator is extinguished,but still continue to heat.
3、Digital display bath temperature is much lower than the actual bath temperature.
Solution:
1,change the temperature controller.
2、Change solid state relay or relay board.
3,change the probe or temperature controller.
Second,the instrument vacuum pumping does not detect the content:
1,there is solvent in the container,limited by saturated injector pressure.
2、The ability of vacuum oil pump decreases.
3、Vacuum hose,loose joints,vacuum gauge leakage.
4,magnetic particle flaw detector for pressure test,in the absence of any solvent,shut off all external butterfly valves and pipelines,holding pressure for one minute,the vacuum gauge pointer should not move,said the airtightness is good,and vice versa see right.
5、Discharge valve,pressure control valve with debris.
6,glass wool sandwich panel broken.
Solution:
1,empty solvent,empty bottle test.
2,vacuum oil pump oil(water),cleaning and maintenance.
3,the instrument along the vacuum pipeline section by section detection,exclusion.
4,①reassembly,glass wool sandwich panel scrub clean,apply vacuum silicone grease,flange mouth alignment tightening.
②update the failure of the seal.
5,rotary evaporator cleaning.
6、Update or repair.
Motor heat detection content:
1,motor temperature rise(shell temperature-room temperature),△T≤40℃is normal
2、ΔT>40°C is treated by the right method.
3、Flat its display flashes,indicating that the motor current overload,according to the right method 2 processing.
2、①Reduce the mixing slurry wing,reduce the load.②Avoid the rotating resonance point.③Improve the rotation speed appropriately and use medium speed.Discharge the abnormal resistance of mechanical part.⑤Maintain the sealing and lubricating part.
