Common faults and solutions of glass reactor

Glass reactors are a common type of laboratory equipment used to carry out experimental operations such as chemical synthesis,solvent evaporation and substance mixing.However,various malfunctions may occur during use,which need to be solved in time to avoid safety accidents and affected experimental results.

Here are several common glass reactor failures and their solutions.

1.Glass reactor leakage

Solution:Firstly,check whether the glass reactor is broken or cracked,if so,you need to replace the corresponding parts;if there is no obvious breakage,you need to check whether the seal is loose or aging,you can strengthen the fixation or replace the new seal.

2.The mixer can not work properly

Solution:Check whether the motor driver is working properly,such as whether the circuit connection is loose,whether the voltage is stable,etc.If necessary,the faulty parts need to be replaced.Also check whether the agitator bearings are well lubricated,if there is any abnormality,you need to add oil or replace the bearings.

3.Inaccurate temperature control of reaction kettle

Solution:Firstly check that the temperature sensor is correctly installed and wired,if the problem still exists then the temperature controller needs to be recalibrated or the faulty controller replaced.In addition,check whether the heater is working properly,if there is any problem,it needs to be repaired or replaced.

4.The pressure of glass reactor is too high:

Solution:Firstly,check whether there is any blockage or the valve is not closed tightly,if the channel is smooth and the pressure is still too high,then appropriately reduce the input amount of reactants or increase the volume of the reactor,and at the same time,improve the ventilation effect.

5.Pressure relief device is abnormal:

Solution:Check that the pressure relief device is properly installed and wired,and if it is OK,replace the defective part.Periodic inspection and maintenance of the pressure relief device is also required during use to ensure that it works properly.

Other possible problems and solutions include:

1.Power switch is on but indicator does not light up:check if the external power supply has poor contact or is not on.

2.Fuse is shorted:place the power switch in the OFF position and replace the fuse.

3.Vacuum is sporadic:check the steel shaft for dirt or loose connectors,remove the dirt and check the vacuum gauge and vacuum pump.

4.Vacuum hose aging:Replace the vacuum hose.

5.There is vacuum but it cannot be pumped:check whether the seal ring is worn out or whether the connected vacuum switch is leaking,and replace the corresponding parts.

6.Motor temperature is too high:check whether it is overloaded,stop the machine and remove the dirt on the contact part between sealing ring and glass shaft and apply vacuum grease.

7.Sudden disappearance of vacuum:check whether the glass parts are cracked or the switch is broken,and replace it.

8.The host arbor is loose from left to right:tighten the top screw.

9.Power indicator light is on but does not rotate:check if the rotating shaft is rusty,stop using it and contact the supplier.
